😈 So I’m AGGRESSIVE 😈…At least when I train apparently. I know this because a mate, who I have all the time in the world for, said so! And because I see my lifting faces. But what about that powerlifting dude lifting twice his body weight or the gym bro doing his 12000+ rep bicep curl, they both look pretty damn aggressive too. That aggression is what helps me attack the bar and continue to get stronger.I know what he meant though, and it was actually meant as a compliment, but I don’t hear it bandied about to the boys so much. Yet every one has two sides, feminine and masculine. And to deny yourself one is doing yourself a disservice. When I lift, I get my masc on! And then I go fix my makeup, do my hair and hug puppies or kittens. And thats okay, in fact it’s healthy.Ladies, it’s more than okay to get in the gym, get your hands dirty, throw some weight (and YOUR weight around), if that’s your thing. If you’re not sure, come try out sometime with me and see how great and powerful it feels! And Guys, it’s more than okay to embrace your more feminine attributes whatever they are. None of the above makes you more or less manly or womanly, it helps to make you physically and mentally stronger… a well rounded individual in fact, who is in touch with themselves and their true nature. Something the world needs a f*ck tonne more of right now, regardless of gender! What I’m trying to saying is just be yourself, embrace all the parts that make you YOU, without fear of judgement, because at the end of the day you’re only denying yourself happiness and fulfilment. And people that judge you are inconsequential, and just projecting their own fears and insecurities anyway! Go forth be bold and be yourself unapologetically.
Making Change
Be brave.Heading back into the gym this week may seem a little daunting. You may not look the same physically as you used to.You may not feel the same mentally as you used to.You may not move as well as you used to.Be humble. You may not be able to lift as much as you used to.Or push as hard. Be better. It’s better to start now while the safety measures are strict and the gyms are capped so they’re quiet. The sooner you start, the sooner you’ll reap the benefits.Have patience, leave your expectations at the door and enjoy training again in the open space with equipment you may not have used in months.Work on establishing those healthy routines and habits once more. Consistency is the key to making long term change. Above all be proud of yourself, it’s been a tough year and you are doing this for you. Don’t forget that and let your fears and anxieties stop you from working on the new improved you!#bebrave #behumble #bebetter #workout #gym #fitness #health #selfimprovement #strong #justlift #train #work #strength #selfcare #selfesteem #mentalhealth #prestonpt #southmelbournept #melbournept #wereback #strongerthanyouthink
