Post-workout nutrition is so important, especially to aid with recovery and muscle repair. You might not always have a chance to sit down and eat, but don’t let this opportunity to improve your results fall to the wayside.
While a liquid meal will never really take the place of a solid meal, it is far better to get nutrients in… than to go without. So here is a Pineapple & Mango post-workout smoothie recipe you can prep in advance, and add your protein to AFTER your workout, to make sure you are adequately refuelling your body. Don’t add your protein until you are ready to consume as it will oxidise and lose its potency.
Pineapple also contains an enzyme called bromelain which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties so this may also aid recovery and digestion.
#Recipe as follows. – 200ml water
– 1/2 cup raw oats
– 1/2 a small frozen banana
– 1/2 cup frozen mango
– 1/2 cup pineapple
– 1 cup baby spinach
– 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
– 1 tsp flax seed oil
– 1 serve protein of your choice, I used @proteinsuppliesaustralia vanilla paleopro

Blend and enjoy.
