Here’s a sweet tasty protein treat. It takes a bit of prep work but you could prepare it in advance, or do a larger batch.

Place the following in a small sauce pan. Bring to the boil then simmer until Pear is tender, pouring liquid over pear occasionally. Add more water if it evaporates too quick as you need to keep it moist.

  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 teabags (we used Dilmah black tea)
  • 1tsp coriander seeds
  • 2 cups water
  • 5 star anise
  • 2 cloves
  • 5 cardamom pods
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract or a vanilla pod
  • 1/2 tsp Lemon rind
  • Pinch nutmeg
  • 1 small peeled Pear

When done, strain the liquid and add 100mls (or whats left if less), pear flesh and the following to a blender

  • 100ml water or milk of your choice
  • 1 serve vanilla protein
  • 1 tsp honey & 1/2 tsp stevia
  • 1/2 cup ice.
  • 1 tsp flax seed oil

Then simply puree, put in a glass, top with a dusting of cinnamon & enjoy! 🙂
